Does anyone here have a dust vac setup with the exhaust vented to the outside of the house/shop? I have an opportunity to pick up a nice system where the large chips/particles will fall into a lower half trash can style bin, but it has no "upper bag" to filter the small particles - and I began to wonder if I vented the exhaust to the outside would I actually need an upper bag. Any help is greatly appreciated. Bill |

Your car, the kid's bike, and the side of the house will all get a nice coat of sawdust. I would recommend some sort of collection bag. Al |

Bill, check this cyclone lid at Lee Valley tools, that's what i've got and i'm satisfied with what it does, i'll only need to buy theis small air filtration unit! http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=1&p=30282&cat=1,42 401&ap=1 |

Remeber this, as you pull air out of the shop and dump it out the wall or window, you have to replace it. That means all your enviromental controls, heat/air conditioning/ humidification or drying will go out the window real fast. I also have a cyclone lid, with a small air purifier it works pretty good. Add to it a fein vac and I stay clean.. Mike |

Just remember, you need _fine_ filtration to protect your lungs. 1 micron or better, as I understand it. |

Woodcraft has the cyclone lids for $20 (small) and $30 (large). |
